Church of Our Saviour began as an Anglican medical mission in 1950, along Indus Road, where rail workers were housed. Over the years, the medical mission became a church, moved to Prince Charles Crescent and grew under the leadership of Reverend Derek Hong.
In 1987, to accommodate more growth, Church of Our Saviour relocated to 130 Margaret Drive – where it currently stands, amid a diverse, growing and revitalised Queenstown. We are now more affectionately known as COOS.
Today, led by Reverend Daniel Wee and a passionate, caring team of volunteers and staff, COOS is a vibrant community of believers, who seek to love our neighbours as God loves us. We express this love through diverse ministries, which include: praying for healing, counselling those who are struggling with stress, supporting families in everyday challenges, embracing people with disabilities, and building up our young for the future.
At the heart of the COOS experience are our cherished encounters with God; whether it be seasons of growth, adversity or rebuilding. Over the years many have met God in this place through miraculous healings, personal encounters, reconciliation and breakthroughs.
Every day — whether it be at our various weekend services (see our service times on page 44), or our weekday activities – we continue to seek God’s presence in Spirit-filled worship, through His unfailing word and warm authentic fellowship.
We hope that this booklet helps you find a place in our community, that you would receive a personal touch from God and be part of our family.
